JAMMU, Jan 15: Secretary, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Abass Dar today inaugurated “Oil and Gas Conservation Fortnight (OGCF)” being observed under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas here today.
While speaking, Abass emphasized the need of energy saving for a secure future. Elaborating salient features of the programme, he said that the main objective of celebrating the fortnight is to create awareness about various fuel saving tips in various fields dependent on oil and gas, including transport, industries, agricultural and household sectors. He stressed on achieving the goal by launching mass awareness programmes in urban as well as rural areas.
Dar stated that Oil and Gas Conservation Fortnight symbolizes the efforts of the Government to promote savings of its hydrocarbon related energy resources, which are non-renewable in nature.
Director CAPD, Parvez Malik, in his address highlighted the functions of the department regarding conservation measures for the welfare of the people and nation.
Among others present were State Level coordinator, Oil Industry, RK Shahab and other senior officials of the oil industry.
