Oil Tank Drivers’ Union celebrates annual day

JAMMU, Apr 17: All J&K Oil Tank Drivers and Cleaners’ Union today celebrated its annual day.
To mark the occasion, a function was organized at Rail Head Complex, Jammu, wherein Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, was the chief guest while Tirlochan Singh Wazir (ex-MLC and president, J&K State Gurudwara Parbandak Board), Manmohan Chowdhary (Vice Chairman, Medical Supplies) former Mayor Jammu, SS Khorana, president, Oil Tanker Owners’ Association also graced the occasion.
Kavinder Gupta, while speaking on the occasion, said that such program should be organized in regular interval of time as these give opportunity to otherwise busy union members including drivers and cleaners to meet each other and share their happiness, grief and other life moment. He also informed the gathering that their demand of road repair has been fulfilled and credit for this goes to the union president, Ranjit Singh Raina, who raised this public importance issue with him.
TS Wazir, in his speech, called for paying at least the minimum wages to the drivers and cleaners and said that the State Government should be serious in issue related to the labours and other professions including drivers and cleaners.
On the occasion, Manmohan Choudhary launched digital identity cards of the Union and issued cards to few members of the union. These identity cards include complete address, contact number of the drivers and cleaner and can be helpful in case of any emergency.
