Old age homes

Sir,
This has reference to the article ‘Pay and stay homes for senior citizens DE May 1.
The author  has touched a serious issue which needs to be taken seriously by philanthropists and other people working for the cause of humanity.
In this fast changing world, the younger generation is in  pursuit of materialistic needs. To meet these needs it moves to other parents leaving behind presents with no one to take care of them at the  fag and of their life.  With the result oldies remain in search of a place where they shall be taken care of. But, in a city like Jammu which is expanding rapidly, such homes do not exist. The old people feel lonely, distraught, helpless, abandoned and uncared. Their anxiety aggravates when they feel ill with nobody to administer them medicines or taken them to hospitals. There were case when some people died unnoticed. In case homes like as suggested by the author are set up, the problem could be addressed to a great extent, if not totally.
The NGOs and business houses interested in such a venture must initiate in this noble task.
Yours etc….
