JAMMU, Feb 26: An old man allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison at his rented accommodation in Sarwal area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, the man identified as Ram Dulare (80) son of Ram Lakhan, resident of Lucknow and at present residing in a rented accommodation in Patoli Mangotrian area of Jammu, allegedly consumed some poisonous substance at his residence this morning.
He said that the family members immediately shifted him to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
“After conducting postmortem, the body of the man was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites while the concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter”, he added.
