Om Nagar deputation meets Mayor, raises issues

JAMMU, Apr 1: A delegation of Om Nagar Residents Welfare Association led by its president, Vikas Dewan met Rajinder Sharma, Mayor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and apprised him of the problems being faced by the residents of Om Nagar, Ishwar Nagar and Lane No. 2, Udheywalla.
The main demands of these areas were construction of proper drainage system on 100 ft stretch of main Om Nagar road, blacktopping of Master Lane and internal lanes leading to Ishwar Nagar and Lane No. 2 Udheywalla and widening and softening of the slope connecting Om Nagar with Bohri-Marh Road.
The deputation also demanded stopping the movement of illegal construction material carriers and regular monitoring of street lights and cleanliness.
A memorandum in this regard was handed over to the Mayor with a request to personally visit the locality for on spot assessment of the prevailing conditions there. The Mayor assured the deputation his full support in resolving all the problems as soon as possible and promised to visit the locality soon.
Other members of the deputation included Suresh Kotwal, S.K Kandroo, Dileep Bhat and Subhash Khajuria.
