Omar admits NC’s biased approach towards Jammu: Manyal

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Sept 11: Jammu and Kashmir BJP General Secretary and former Minister, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal today said that it seems that the National Conference (NC) vice president and former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, has realized that his party’s lies cannot befool the people of Jammu anymore and that he must accept that NC was biased in its approach towards this region.
Dr Manyal said that at last good sense has prevailed on Omar Abdullah to speak out the truth, that the people of Jammu region had been discriminated in all matters and given step motherly treatment to Jammu for decades under NC rule, a fact that now stands endorsed by the vice president of the party itself.
Dr. Manyal said that Omar Abdullah deserves all the appreciation for coming forward to accept the ground realities prevailing in Jammu and Kashmir. It is indeed a good sign that Omar has publicly admitted that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the incidences of violence, stone pelting and hartaals etc have become extinct and there is now sustainable peace in the Kashmir Valley and in such changing, there is an increase in tourist flow.
The BJP leader said that it is the same NC, whose leaders had been repeatedly raising questions when the Union Government and the UT administration were claiming that peace has returned in Jammu and Kashmir to a great extent and record number of tourists, even from across the world are visiting Kashmir.
He was referring to an interview with a YouTube channel, where Omar Abdullah talked that NC is only willing to work for Kashmir region, Dr. Manyal said that such a statement shows that NC has lost ground in Jammu and soon it is going to be pushed to the wall in the Valley as well.
Dr. Manyal said that the NC has traditionally been a party full of lies and deceit and the people of Jammu were always misled on false promises to seek their votes and the assertion of Omar Abdullah has cleared all the doubts.
Anyway, it is appreciable that for the first time, Omar Abdullah has gathered courage to speak the truth openly. It is expected that the NC and its leaders would seek an apology from the people of Jammu for its wrong doings and biased approach.
