The meeting was held at the party headquarters, Naw-e-Subah, in Srinagar and was attended by several senior leaders, including NC vice president and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, as well as the newly appointed provincial president, Showkat Ahmad Mir and party legislators.
“This was the first working committee meeting after the Government was formed. There have been some changes in the party’s hierarchy, including the appointment of a new provincial president and “this meeting was an overview of the party’s functioning,” Masoodi said.
Masoodi noted that no major decisions were made during the meeting but emphasized discussions on the roadmap for strengthening the party and fulfilling promises made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “Over the last six years, there was bureaucratic rule, which remained disconnected from the people. Now, the government will take concrete steps to resolve public issues,” he said.

Regarding Statehood restoration, Masoodi termed it a Constitutional obligation. “The Supreme Court has also directed the restoration of Statehood, making it a Constitutional obligation for the Central Government. Omar Abdullah is already making efforts in this direction. With Statehood restored, several other issues can also be addressed,” he added.
