SRINAGAR, Mar 30: National Conference NC) vice president and former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah exhorted the YNC functionaries who called on him here, today under the leadership of its provincial president, Salman Ali Sagar, to strengthen their rows and focus on reaching out to youth.
He asked the YNC functionaries to lend shoulder to the worries of youth by highlighting their problems at every appropriate forum. Salman Sagar apprised Omar Abdullah about the problems being faced by the youth of J&K during the meeting.
Omar was all ears to the individual views of the YNC functionaries. In addition to the matters concerning the YNC, issues like widespread unemployment also dominated  the interaction. Among others party’s chief spokesperson and political advisor to vice president , Tanvir Sadiq, and deputy political secretary to VP, Mudassir Shahmiri were also present on the occasion.
Among others the meet was attended by the party’s district YNC functionaries , and other provincial office bearers.
Later Salman Ali Sagar while addressing a meeting of district youth functionaries of Srinagar at Nawa -e- Subha said that growing unemployment has added to desperation among the youth.
He said the most impounding problem the youth are facing at present is frustration. This monster is eating up our youth slowly and gradually. Our brothers and sisters are jobless. Every year thousands get added to this list of unemployed. The frustration as a result of multitude of problems is increasing day by day. The incumbent administration has only served assurances to our youth instead of jobs and have failed to provide any viable solutions,” he said.
“The good work that was started during the previous NC led governments in terms of  fast tracking of recruitment through JKSSB, JKPSC; enhancing their employability through Himayat scheme; fostering entrepreneurship under the flag ship Seed Capital Fund Scheme Sher-e –Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme for the Youth (SKEWPY) – was all liquidated,” he said.
Meantime provincial vice president, Ahsan Pardesi also addressed the party  functionaries  in a separate meeting at the party headquarters. Provincial president Women’s Wing Sabiya Qadri was also present on the occasion.
