JAMMU, Mar 12: Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister has accused the NC leader, Omar Abdullah of communalizing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) for political gains which aimed at exploiting communal sentiments rather than addressing the genuine intent of the CAA.
In a statement issued here, today, the BJP leader emphasized that the implementation of the CAA is not based on any religious bias, but solely on the principles of justice and humanitarianism. He stated, “It is disappointing to see that Omar is trying to create division by alleging that the CAA targets Muslims. The CAA is a legislation that aims to provide refuge and support to persecuted minorities from neighboring countries. It is not based on religion but rather on humanitarian grounds.”
The former Deputy Chief Minister stated, “The CAA is a necessary step towards ensuring justice and protection for those who have faced persecution. The party will continue to work tirelessly to create an inclusive and harmonious India where every citizen’s rights are respected”.
