JAMMU, Dec 21: Former Minister and additional general secretary of the National Conference (NC) Ajay Kumar Sadhotra and provincial president Jammu Rattan Lal Gupta, reaffirmed the Omar Abdullah Government’s commitment in empowering the youth of Jammu and Kashmir during a joining programme held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, here today.
The programme was organized under the leadership of Tejinder Pal Singh Aman, district president Jammu Urban JKNC, and witnessed the induction of several young members into the party fold.
While welcoming the youth into the Party, Sadhotra emphasized the Party’s unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, stating, “The NC Government has always stood for creating avenues to uplift and empower the youth of J&K. The need of the hour is to create new resources and opportunities for the younger generation to thrive in a competitive world.”
Addressing the gathering, Rattan Lal Gupta said there is a dire need to launch comprehensive tourism development initiatives across J&K with an aim to create new resources to tackle the unemployment in the Union Territory. Such efforts will not only promote the region’s rich cultural heritage but also open up employment opportunities for the youth,” he added.
Calling upon the newly inducted members to contribute to strengthening the party, Sheikh Bashir Ahmad (provincial secretary Jammu) urged them to work tirelessly to reinforce the hands of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
During the meeting, Tejinder Pal Singh nominated Mohd Iqbal Naik as joint secretary district Jammu Urban YNC, Attal Singh as block president Jammu North “A” and Sourab Sharma as president of ward number 32 with the approval of provincial president Jammu YNC and MLA Ajaz Ahmad Jan.
Prominent among those who were present included Sheikh Bashir Ahmad (provincial secretary Jammu), Pardeep Bali (provincial secretary Jammu), Vijay Lochan (chairman SC Cell), Jugal Mahajan (treasurer), Raghbir Singh Manhas (district president Jammu Rural A), Rakesh Singh Raka (vice president, Central Zone), Laxami Datta (senior leader), Rita Gupta and Dilshad Malik (vice presidents Central Zone), Abid Magrey (district president Ramban), Mohinder Kumar Rana (joint secretary Central Zone), Zamir Quershi and Nitish Goswami (provincial secretaries Jammu YNC), Yasir Ashan (district vice president Jammu Urban YNC), Sahil Kerni (district secretary Jammu Urban YNC), Sahil Chib (district secretary Jammu Rural A), Amit Sharma (joint secretary Jammu Urban YNC), Rohit Kumar and Naresh Kumar.
