Omar Govt failed to fulfill its key promises: JDU

JAMMU, Dec 1: Jammu and Kashmir Chief of Janta Dal United (JDU), G M Shaheen, strongly criticized the Omar Abdullah-led Government for failing to deliver on its key promises.
Addressing a press conference here today, Shaheen highlighted the Government’s inability to meet expectations, particularly regarding the provision of free electricity and the restoration of Statehood, which were central to its agenda.
Shaheen expressed disappointment over the lack of progress, noting that two months have passed since these promises were made. “The Government has failed in all respects, leaving the people disillusioned and questioning its commitment to their welfare,” he stated.
He reiterated JDU’s commitment to serving the people of J&K, emphasizing the party’s focus on delivering tangible benefits to the public. “JDU remains steadfast in its resolve to work for the upliftment of every citizen and address their grievances effectively,” Shaheen said.
On the occasion, the JDU chief announced a significant development for the party as Suresh Chander Gupta, a prominent personality, formally joined JDU. He welcomed Gupta’s inclusion, describing it as a major boost to the party’s strength and outreach.
Looking ahead, Shaheen affirmed that the JDU is fully prepared to perform strongly in the upcoming Panchayat elections, aiming to earn the trust and support of the people. He urged the public to hold the current government accountable and support JDU’s vision for progress and empowerment in the region.
Also present on the occasion were prominent leaders, including Amit Kapoor (Member, Parliamentary Board), Harpreet Singh (Party general secretary), Mukesh Gupta, Sharma, Terat Raam and Ashok Singh (youth leader).
