JAMMU, Dec 31: Advisor to Chief Minister, Mubrak Gul said that the commitment and determination exhibited by Omar led Government for public empowerment, transparency, strengthening of institution and making public service delivery time bound will lead the state to new heights of prosperity.
In a statement, Mr Gul said the Government gave utmost priority for maintenance of peace resulting in the visit of 13 lakh tourists to the valley, over 6 lakh yatris to Amarnath and over 101 lakh yatris to Mata Vaishno devi. The record influx of tourists and yatris in the state created huge economic activities for people particularly associated with tourism and trade.
One of the remarkable decisions of Omar led Government was to make public service delivery system time bound. The list of services classified under Public Service Guarantee Act has been enhanced from 50 to 70 this year. The services like copy of FIR, verification report of CID for Passport, newly appointed candidates, certification of identity, issuance of character certificate, untraced report in accidents, stolen vehicles and theft cases in the Police Department have been brought under its ambit which will provide succor to the common people.
To address the public demands and redress public grievances, Mr Gul said the Government gave the approval for implementation of Baglihar Hydel Project Stage-II, incentives for tourism as an industry, improvement and widening of road network in Srinagar city, enhancement of generation capacity of Rattle Hydro Electric project from 690 t0 850 MWs, creation of 322 posts of Dental Assistants etc.
To strengthen Power, Health, Education, Roads and Buildings , PHE and other vital sectors across the state, Mr Gul said that, the chief minister dedicated different flagship projects to people during the previous year, adding that as many as 81 new bridges were taken up for construction and over 3000Kms of road have been macadamized. He said that this coalition government led by Omar Abdullah would continue to make sustain efforts for restoration of normalcy and peace which is pre requisite for development.
