“You ran away,” Omar told the protesters.
“We didn’t run away Sir. We were forced to run,” a protester countered immediately
A Kashmiri Pandit woman threatened that she would take Omar Abdullah to the International Criminal Court. They also charged Omar with playing politics on their migration.
A video of the event showed that as soon as Omar started leaving the venue after delivering the address, some Kashmiri Pandits, who were present there, confronted him and asked questioning on their migration saying they were forced to leave Kashmir.
However, Omar’s speech wasn’t interrupted by the protesters.
However, Omar Abdullah said the number of hecklers was just four as against over 150 audiences.
“The hecklers waited till the end of my speech to make the news and “YouTube videos”, Omar remarked.
He said he had a great session at University of California, Berkeley.
“I had a great session @UC Berkeley and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Four hecklers (in an audience of 150 plus), who waited till the event concluded to make YouTube Videos of themselves can’t take away from an excellent Question & Answer session there,” Omar tweeted after the function.
Through another tweet, he said: “And lastly I’ve never claimed to be universally loved or even liked so if 4 people in such a large audience make their dislike known it’s really not such a big deal at all. At least no one threw eggs or a shaving foam pie at me”.
