Addressing a press conference, Thakur alleged that the Government has failed on all fronts and is resorting to “useless issues” to shift focus. “The National Conference Government has completed three months, but it has yet to deliver on any of its promises,” he said.
Thakur pointed out that the party had made several guarantees, including providing 10 gas cylinders, 200 units of electricity, 10 kilograms of rice, and jobs, but none of these commitments have been fulfilled. “On the ground, there is zero progress. Even after a minor snowfall, link roads remain closed for days,” he said.
He alleged that the Government’s performance is limited to statements. “The Government boasts of clearing snow, providing electricity, and ensuring water supply, but these remain empty claims,” he said. He added that unscheduled power cuts have caused widespread public outrage.
He accused the Omar-led Government of flip-flopping on issues, highlighting its earlier promise to remove electricity meters but now advocating for their installation. “Kashmiris are not even receiving basic electricity, let alone the promised 200 units,” he said. He also compared the current Government’s performance with that of the Lieutenant Governor’s administration, which he claimed had managed roads and electricity effectively.
He reiterated BJP’s commitment to restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir at an appropriate time, as promised by the Prime Minister and Home Minister.
He also highlighted BJP’s achievements, including improved public participation in elections and the vision of uniting Kashmir with Kanyakumari under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
