SRINAGAR, Aug 12: Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today questioned the justification of bail to Swami Aseemanand, chargesheeted in the 2007 Samjhauta blasts case, saying how was it different from Pakistan’s explanation in Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi case.
“How is the Indian justification of bail for Aseemanand any different from the Pakistani justification of bail for Lakhvi,” Omar wrote on micro blogging site Twitter.
Meanwhile, taking a jibe on External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj over her statement in Parliament today, Omar said that assuming even one allegation made by her is correct, what does it say about the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as no one was prosecuted during NDA’s over seven-and-a-half-year rule.
“Assuming even one allegation made by Ms Swaraj is correct what does it say about the BJP – in 7 1/2 yrs of rule not a single prosecution,” Mr Abdullah, who is the working president of National Conference (NC), wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter.
He was referring to the statement made by Ms Swaraj in Parliament, in which she hit back on Congress over the deadlock in the both the Houses due to Lalitgate.
