SRINAGAR : Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has questioned the ban on the documentary “India’s Daughter” saying it is not going to make women in India any safer.
Talking to micro-blogging site, Mr Abdullah said,” Banning the documentary #IndiasDaughter isn’t going to make women in India any safer nor do anything to improve India’s image so why ban it?.
“Well done to @ndtv for protesting the ban imposed on #IndiasDaughter without resorting to noise & shrill voices. I hope the ban is liftem” he said..
The BBC documentary is based on an interview with the accused of Nirbhaya rape case.
Though the BBC released it, including on YouTube, but the Centre has banned the documentary in India. (AGENCIES)
