JAMMU, Feb 25: Political Secretary to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Tanvir Sadiq today described the creation of new administrative units as a step towards empowerment of people.
“Omar Abdullah realised the dream of people through administrative units”, Tanvir said while addressing a gathering in Kunzer Tangmarg.
“We are committed towards the restoration of Autonomy and partial revocation of AFSPA”, he added.
Provincial secretary Showkat Mir and provincial president youth Salman Sagar and other leaders were also present on the occasion.
Tanvir said that necessary paraphernalia for the newly created administrative units would be created alongwith arranging funds so that they become functional as soon as possible.
He said that in order to accommodate the genuine demands of a few left out areas and satisfy the aspirations of the people of these areas, Omar has already announced constitution of expert committee to look into these genuine demands and finalize the report within three months so that Cabinet will take a decision in this regard.
Tanvir told the gathering that PDP created drama on the floor of the House and made mockery of their voters. PDP boycotted Assembly and did not raise any public issue, he maintained.
“PDP will disintegrate as no one wants to be with a party which only believes in creating urban-rural divide”, he said.
