Omar should introspect instead of blaming others: BJP

JAMMU, Oct 19:  BJP State spokespersons, Balbir Ram Rattan and Prof. Virendra Gupta, in a joint statement expressed shock and sorrow on behalf of State BJP over the death of Zahid Rasool Bhatt, a truck conductor, who succumbed to burn injuries suffered in an attack in Udhampur.
The two leaders expressed its condolences on behalf of the Party to the bereaved family and sympathies with it on this tragic loss and pray to Almighty to give courage to the family to withstand the irreparable loss.
They appealed to all the sections of society in the State to maintain peace and tranquility and stick to the traditions of mutual brotherhood and tolerance.
The spokespersons, however condemned the irresponsible statement of former Chief Minisiter and senior NC leader, Omar Abdullah, wherein he has held BJP responsible for this incident.
They said that person like Omar Abdullah, who is a leader of Opposition in the State Legislature, should speak with responsibility and not try to grind his political axe out of such sensitive issues and restrain from indulging in the blame game.
Balbir Ram while recalling about the cold blooded murder of Haji Yousf wants to know that whom Omar Abdullah blames for the death of this innocent person as his death still haunts the peace loving people of the State.
The State spokespersons said that the fact of the matter is Omar Abdullah and other leaders like him, who gave provocative communal statements on the sensitive issue, are responsible for the tragedy. They, instead of appealing the people for keeping restrain, maintaining their cool and played divisive politics at the time when there was need of keeping restrain and respecting religious sentiments of each other.
