SRINAGAR, Feb 19: Taking a dig at the Human Resources Development (HRD) Ministry order for hoisting national flag in Central Universities in the country, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has said this will not help to solve the problems of alienation and instill patriotic fervour amongst the youth at large.
Taking to micro blogging site Twitter, the working president of the National Conference (NC) said If hoisting the flag was all it took to address feelings of alienation, problems of Kashmir & North East would have been solved decades ago.
I’m all for innovative solutions but let’s not kid ourselves that slogans heard in #JNU or #Jadavpur will disappear with this HRD order, he said.
Mr Abdullah’s tweet came after the HRD Ministry issued an order to hoist national flag in central universities.
