SRINAGAR : Taking a jibe at Union Minister Venkaia Naidu for his concern over National Institute of Technology (NIT), Srinagar, crisis, working president of the main opposition National Conference (NC) Omar Abdullah said Mehbooba Mufti headed PDP-BJP coalition government in the state has called it a non-issue.
Mr Naidu in his tweet had said “Prabhu Chawla ji… What happened in NIT Srinagar is totally unacceptable… I pity pseudo-secularists for their silence on it..”
Reacting to Mr Naidu’s tweet, Mr Abdullah said “But your CM in J&K called #NIT a “non-issue” so does that make her a double pseudo-secularist?”. Jammu and Kashmir has a coalition PDP and BJP government headed by Mehbooba Mufti.
Mr Naidu and Mr Abdullah’s tweets evoked mixed response. ” With due respect, you are aware that its your govt and that too with clear majority right! 282 is bestowed to act not whine! ” while another tweet in reply to Mr Naidus said ” yeh 282 wale toh 44 ke aage juk Gaye”.
“Then why is BJP Quiet?, asked a tweet while another said ” BJP-PDP Govt’s police lathi-charged the NIT students & here u blame Seculars ?
I pity Pseudo Nationalists for their silence . One of the tweet in response to Mr Abdullah said ” no, she is wearing a “surakhsha kavich”! while another said ” if that makes you happy Yes it does now stop playing politics be real man and stand for students”.
“All non-locals are our brothers and sisters.some people r politicising the issue and disturbing peaceful env” said a tweet while another added BJP & PDP have nothing common in their ideology except for their hunger to grab power in J&K “.
