JAMMU, Nov 7: On 46th foundation day of NHPC, a blood donation camp was organized at NHPC office complex here today in collaboration with Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu wherein NHPC employees voluntarily donated their blood.
Lalit Kumar, Assistant Director, Enforcement Directorate, Jammu; CISF Jawans and persons from other departments and organization also donated their blood in the camp.
Dr. Niti Dutt and her medical team from GMC conducted this blood donation camp where 36 unit of blood were collected.
Rajan Kumar, Regional Head, NHPC Jammu inaugurated NHPC foundation day celebrations by planting ‘TREE 2020’ in the office premises.
Speaking on the occasion, he said it has been decided by CMD NHPC, A.K Singh to organize blood donation camp on NHPC foundation day so that a meaningful effort can be made to fulfill their social obligations. “Blood donation is a pious act and in the prevailing scenario it is the best contribution one can make to the society,” he said adding that organizing blood donation camp reflects their CMD Abhay Kumar Singh’s approach towards humanity and their commitment to the society.
A handout stated that blood donation camps have been organized in all NHPC power stations, projects and offices on this day where not only the employees but also nearby offices and local residents participated.
On this occasion prizes and certificates were also distributed by Rajan Kumar to the winners of various competitions organized during vigilance awareness week at NHPC Regional Office Jammu.
