One arrested with banned drug

JAMMU, Mar 26: Police today arrested a drug peddler with banned capsules/ tablets near Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu.
According to a police spokesman, during routine patrolling near GMCH Jammu, Bakshi Nagar police intercepted a man on suspicion and on his personal checking recovered 115 capsules/tablets of banned drug from his possession.
The accused identified as Irshad Ahmed son of Ahmed Din, a resident of Gujjar Mohalla, upper Paloura, Jammu, was arrested on the spot and a case FIR No 52/2016 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at police station Bakshi Nagar.
The arrest was made by a special team led by SHO Bakshi Nagar, Inspector Ashwani Sharma under the supervision of Deputy SP Sugandha Mahajan, SDPO West and Dr Vinod Kumar, SP City North.
