JAMMU, July 24: Police today arrested one person and destroyed over 50 litre of lahan besides recovering 5 litres of illicit liquor from Rajpura, falling under the jurisdiction of Pargwal Police Post.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Pargwal Police Post conducted a raid at village Rajpura and arrested one person, destroyed over 50 litres of lahan and working still. 5 litres of illicit liquor was also recovered from his possession, he added.
The arrested person has been identified as Gittan Masih, son of Hamid Masih of Rajpura, Pargwal.
A case under Excise Act has been registered at Pargwal Police Station and investigation started.
Police party led by SI Joginder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Khour Ravi Kant and SDPO Akhnoor Rayees Mohammad Bhat.
