JAMMU, Apr 24: A young woman today committed suicide while three other persons made abortive attempts on their lives by consuming some poisonous substances at their respective residences in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a woman namely Anju Devi (20) wife of Naina Parsad, resident of UP and at present residing in a ‘Jhuggi’ at Marble Market (Channi), allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at her residence.
He said that the body of the deceased was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where after conducting post mortem it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
Meanwhile, he said a 25-year-old girl identified as Priya daughter of Gurdev Dutt of Satwari, Kajal Rakwal (21) daughter of Raj Ram Rakwal of Durga Nagar and Pankaj Sharma (24) son of Sharvan Sharma of Kheri (Bishnah), made vain attempts on their lives by consuming some poisonous substances at their respective residences.
“They were shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment. In all cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance”, he added.
