JAMMU, Sept 2: On the closing ceremony of Sanskrit Fortnight celebrations, a day-long national seminar was organized under the joint aegis of Agricultural Produce and Farmers Welfare Department, Jammu and Shri Kailakh Jyotishavim Vedic Sansthan Trust at Baba Jitto Kisan Bhawan, Talab Tillo, Jammu.
The Program was presided over by KK Sharma, Director, Agricultural Produce and Farmers Welfare Department, Jammu. Former Minister and Jammu and Kashmir BJP Vice President Sham Lal Sharma was the Chief Guest while the special guest was senior advocate, Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Jammu President Vikram Sharma.
The keynote address was delivered by Gold Medalist Jyoti Prakash Shastri, Principal, Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Rehari Jammu.
Speaking on this occasion, Sham Lal Sharma said that at present agriculture is not only a means of earning a living but is also proving to be a good business. If nature supports the farmers, a lot of money can be earned from this work also. Many types of diseases and natural outbreaks destroy the hopes of the farmers. The crop gets burnt in no time. Where quintals of grain were expected, one has to be satisfied with a few kilograms of grain.
He also said that Shri Kailakh Jyotishavim Vedic Sansthan Trust, Raipur, Bantalab is playing an important role in promoting Devvani Sanskrit.
Addressing during the seminar, Vikram Sharma said that the planets and zodiac signs have a direct impact on the crops yield. Mercury is the lord of green things and Jupiter is the lord of crops like gram. The movement and position of the planets determine the rain required for the crop. According to astrology, sowing done in Mrigashira Nakshatra proves to be the best. This is such a constellation in which if the farmers sow their crops, their land definitely sprouts gold.
Jyoti Prakash Shastri said that the effect of water, air and fire is that the moon revolves around the earth in about 27 to 29 days. During this time, it passes through all the 12 zodiac signs. He stays in one zodiac sign for 2.5 to 3.25 days. These zodiac signs directly affect land, water, air and fire, which affect roots, leaves, flowers and fruits. Such programs should be organised.
Agriculture Director KK Sharma said that the movement of the planets not only affects the farmer but also his crop and yield. Along with the moon’s Uttarayan and Dakshinayan, the rain, sunshine and weather required for the crop also depends on the effect of planets and zodiac signs. Due to understanding this effect of astrology in farming very well, Agriculture Department is emphasizing on the promotion of biodynamic almanac method.
On this occasion, Professor Sharat Sharma, a member of the trust, told that a few days ago, under the guidance of Mahant Rohit Shastri, head of the trust, the Sanskrit fortnight was inaugurated by DIG Shakti Pathak (IPS), and Askok Sharma, Director School Education, Jammu at Government Higher Secondary School, Muthi.
A book entitled “Saral Sanskrit Bodh” published by Trust was released by Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha.
