RAJOURI, Sept 25: One person was killed while two others were injured when a Tata Mobile vehicle rolled down into a gorge in Manjakote area on Jammu-Poonch highway this morning.
Official sources said that the accident took place at around 7 am, when the ill-fated vehicle was on way to Surankote from Jammu. It was loaded with chickens. When it reached Deri Lalyot near Manjakote, the driver lost control over the vehicle at a curve and it landed into a gorge. While one person was killed on the spot, two others including driver were injured.
The police said that driver escaped from the spot in injured condition, Mohan Lal, resident of Akhnoor was shifted to Manjakote hospital and then to District Hospital, Rajouri. The police identified the deceased as one Deepak Kumar alias Rama, resident of Akhnoor. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
