One dies, 22 injured in road accidents

SRINAGAR, Aug 12: One person died while 22 others were injured in different road accidents across the Kashmir valley today.
Police said a Wagon-R vehicle bearing registration number JK05C/4346 driven by Tariq Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh resident of Kanlibagh, Baramulla and a Tavera vehicle bearing registration number JK05C/2441 collided at Sangrama, Sopore. In this accident six passengers who were travelling in Tavera and the driver of Wagon-R were injured. All the injured were shifted to District Hospital, Baramulla for treatment where Tariq Ahmad succumbed to his injuries while another injured Abdul Majid Khan son of Mohammad Yaqoob resident of Lachipora Uri was referred to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar for further treatment.
Meanwhile, two trucks bearing registration numbers PB07AF-6019 driven by Sarnam Singh son of Jeet Raina resident of Jammu and PB07AF-6008 driven by Gurman Singh son of Daleep Singh resident of Gurdaspora Punjab collided at Bijbehara, Anantnag. In this accident both the drivers were injured. Both the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital, Bijbehara for treatment where from Sarnam Singh was shifted to Bone and Joints Hospital Barzulla and  Gurnam Singh was shifted to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar for further treatment.
In another accident, a TATA 407 passenger vehicle bearing registration number JK05-7019 and a tipper bearing registration number JK01L/4995 collided at Ladoora, Sopore, resulting in injuries to 13 passengers. All the injured were shifted to District Hospital, Baramulla for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard.
A load carrier bearing registration number JK01N/4196 hit a motorcycle bearing registration number JK16/0629 at Batsar Road, in the jurisdiction of Police Post Shadipora Ganderbal, resulting in injuries to pillion mate Irfan Ahmad Malik son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Malikpora, Gagjigund. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard.
