One dies, 43 +ve cases in Jammu

JAMMU/SRINAGAR /LEH, Aug 9: One person died of COVID-19 and 43 tested positive in Jammu region while 65 new cases were reported in Kashmir and eight in the Union Territory of Ladakh today.
A 34-year-old man hailing from Jhiri in Marh area of Jammu district died of co-morbidities and COVID-19 in Narayana Hospital Katra today taking toll in the region to 2151 and Jammu district to 1140.
Ramban and Kathua districts didn’t report any fresh cases today.
COVID cases in other districts include 11 in Jammu, nine Doda, six each Udhampur and Kishtwar, four Rajouri, three Poonch and two each in Reasi and Samba districts.
Fifty four persons today recovered from the virus.
Jammu region now has 566 active positive cases.
Out of eight COVID positive cases in the UT of Ladakh, three were reported from Leh and five in Kargil.
Ladakh now has 69 active positive cases.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 65 fresh COVID-19 positive cases.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 200,429 including 197,445 recoveries and 2,239 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,311 including 745 from Kashmir division.
With 196 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 316,957 which is 98.23 percent of the total cases.
Those who tested positive include 20 from Srinagar, 17 from Baramulla, 2 from Budgam, 2 from Pulwama, 2 from Kupwara, 2 from Anantnag, 6 from Bandipora, 9 from Ganderbal, 4 from Kulgam and 1 from Shopian.
