UDHAMPUR, Oct 21: A pillion rider was died and motorcyclist sustained critical injuries when their bike was hit by an unknown vehicle near Dramthal while two motorcycles collided at Bypass on National Highway causing injuries to four persons in Udhampur area.
The deceased has been identified as Ajay Kumar Sharma (25), son of Mast Ram Sharma, a resident of Toldi Nallah in Tehsil Chenani. The injured, Sudesh Bharti (44), son of Des Raj of Dogra village in Tehsil Chenani, was admitted to Sub District Hospital, Chenani.
The accident took place around 3.15 pm when the Motorcycle, bearing registration number JK14D-2758, was hit by an unknown vehicle at Dramthal, on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. Locals shifted the injured persons to Sub District Hospital Chenani where doctors declared Ajay Kumar as brought dead.
The unknown driver along with the vehicle fled the spot. A case FIR No.137/2021 under section 279/337/304-A stands registered at Police Station, Chenani.
Meanwhile, in yet another road accident, two motorcycles collided near Raja Marble House on National Highway (Bypass).
Locals and police rushed to the spot and took the injured persons to District Hospital Udhampur.
The injured were identified as Pawan Kumar (34), son of Madan Lal of Sui, Udhampur; Akshay Kumar (24), son of Shiv Charan of Rathian; Sahil Ahmed (19) son of Mohd Jamal of Battal Balian and Manav Dev Singh (17), son of Jagdev Singh of Chenani. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
