POONCH, Aug 29: One person was killed while eight others were injured in a road accident on Mughal road in Surankote area during late last night.
Official sources said that people in dozens of vehicles were moving towards Chandimarh to receive political leader Choudhary Mohd Akram. This Echo vehicle bearing registration number, JK12D-1910 was also moving along with these vehicles. When it reached a place between Behramgala and Chandimarh, it met with an accident in which one person was killed and eight others were injured. Click here to watch video
The injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital, Surankote. The deceased was identified as Yasir Ahmed, son of Manzoor Ahmed, a resident of Marhote village. The injured also belong to the same area of Surankote.
BMO Surankote, Dr Yousuf said that a youth was brought dead, body was handed over to the family for last rites after performing legal formalities at hospital. Three, among eight injured were shifted to GMC Rajouri for advance treatment while five were under treatment at SDH Surankote. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
