JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Feb 12: One person died of COVID-19 and 91 others tested positive while 84 recovered from the virus in Jammu and Kashmir today.
A 54-year-old male from village Lalyal in Marh area of Jammu district died of ailments and Coronavirus in PGI Chandigarh. His body was shifted here for cremation as per COVID protocol.
Thirty five persons today tested positive for the virus in Jammu region including 14 in Jammu district, 11 Poonch, three each Samba and Udhampur, two Rajouri and one each in Doda and Kishtwar districts while three persons recovered from the virus—one each in Kathua, Samba and Kishtwar districts.
Today’s death has taken Jammu region’s Corona toll to 723, the highest being 372 in Jammu district, 64 Doda, 57 Udhampur, 55 Rajouri, 53 Kathua, 40 Samba, 24 Poonch, 22 Kishtwar, 21 Ramban and 15 in Reasi district.
Jammu region now has 51730 cases including 159 active positives and 50848 recoveries. Rest were the fatalities.
Meanwhile, Kashmir reported 56 fresh COVID-19 cases today.
Srinagar reported 26, Baramulla 11, Budgam 2, Pulwama 5, Kupwara 2, Anantnag 1, Bandipora 1, Ganderbal 2, Kulgam 3 and Shopian 3 new cases.
The positive cases in Kashmir division have reached 73,478 including 71,778 recoveries and 1,225 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 634 including 475 from Kashmir division.
With 84 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 122,626, which is 97.92 percent of the total cases.
Meanwhile, the UT of Ladakh today reported one COVID positive case in Kargil district.
