POONCH, Oct 8: One person was killed while another critically injured in two separate road mishaps in Surankote and Mendhar area today.
A police spokesman said that one Subash Chander, resident of Sanai fell down from moving bus on Poonch – Surankote road this morning. The bus was over loaded. Subash, a shopkeeper was going to his shop at Surankote town. He was rushed to Surankote hospital, where he died after some time. The police sent the body for postmortem and later handed over to the family after performing legal formalities. The police also registered a case and seized the vehicle. The bus driver, however, managed to escape.
Meanwhile, one Mohd Zuflkar Khan, son of Mohd Sharief, resident of Banola village in Mendhar was critically injured after his tractor trolley rolled down on Bhati Dhar-Chhatral road. He got trapped under the tractor and was removed by the locals and police. The injured was admitted to SDH Mendhar and later referred to GMC&H Jammu in critical condition.
