JAMMU, May 3: A woman died of food poisoning while five others (including children) of her family are battling with life in Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu and SMGS Hospital, Jammu.
According to the reports, the family, which belongs to village Kathad of Akhnoor last evening, ate Dal with rice in the dinner. After few minutes, condition of the family members started deteriorating. They were immediately taken to Sub District Hospital, Akhnoor, from where the adults of the family members were referred to GMCH Jammu while the kids were referred to SMGS Hospital.
However, one of the victim identified as Suman Devi wife of Som Nath died on the way to the hospital and his body was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites. The victims which are undergoing treatment in GMCH Jammu are Gyan Chand (70) son of Gulabi and his son namely Somnath (31) while the victim kids undergoing treatment in SMGS Hospital are Kanahiya, Preeti and Sohaib (15), all children of Somnath.
