One dies of Coronavirus, 140 test +ve; 100 recover in J&K

Fresh spike in Leh, 25 new cases reported

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Mar 20: One person died of Coronavirus while 140 others tested positive including 115 in Kashmir and 25 in Jammu even as 100 others recovered from the virus in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Union Territory of Ladakh also reported fresh spurt in cases today with 25 persons testing positive in Leh district.
Twenty five cases in Jammu region were confined to two districts alone including 22 in Jammu district and three Udhampur. Rest eight districts in the region didn’t report any fresh cases today.
As many as 30 persons recovered from the virus, 26 of them in Jammu district and two each in Udhampur and Kathua districts.
Jammu region now has 52348 Corona cases. Among them, 263 are active positive while 51353 have recovered from the virus and there have been 732 casualties.
Among the casualties, the highest 379 have been recorded in Jammu district followed by 64 in Doda, 57 Udhampur, 55 Rajouri, 53 Kathua, 41 Samba, 24 Poonch, 22 Kishtwar, 21 Ramban and 16 in Reasi district.
Meanwhile, 25 fresh cases were today reported in Leh district in the Union Territory of Ladakh. However, Kargil district didn’t report any fresh case today.
Ladakh now has 9906 Corona cases. Among them, 73 are active positives while 9703 have recovered from pathogen.
Of 73 active positives, 67 cases are in Leh and six in Kargil.
There have been 130 Corona fatalities in Ladakh—86 in Leh and 44 in Kargil.
Meanwhile, Kashmir reported 115 new cases of COVID-19 today.
Those who tested positive include 73 Srinagar, 14 Baramulla, 18 Budgam, 2 Pulwama,   3 Kupwara, 3 Anantnag and 2 from Shopian.
With fresh cases, the number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 76,041 including 73,865 recoveries and 1,248 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,191 including 928 from Kashmir division.
With 100 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 125,218, which is 97.53 percent of the total cases.
