One dies of COVID, 284 test +ve in J&K

14 new cases in Ladakh

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Dec 25: One person died of COVID-19 in Kashmir while 284 persons tested positive for the virus and 409 others recovered in Jammu and Kashmir.
This was after several days that no Corona fatality was reported in the Jammu region but 144 persons tested positive.
The person who died of COVID_19 in Kashmir today hailed from Baramulla district.
Among the positives, 96 cases alone were reported in Jammu district followed by 12 in Kathua, 11 Doda, eight Udhampur, seven Rajouri, five Samba, two each Ramban and Reasi districts and one in Poonch.
Of 220 persons who recovered from the virus in Jammu region, 99 hailed from Jammu district, 28 Udhampur, 23 Reasi, 21 Kishtwar, 17 Doda, 16 Kathua, 11 Rajouri and five in Poonch district. No recoveries were reported from Samba and Ramban districts.
Jammu region now has 49291 Corona cases including 1703 active positive while 46902 have recovered from the virus and there have been 686 casualties.
The maximum 350 casualties have been reported from Jammu district, 61 Doda, 57 Udhampur, 54 Rajouri, 48 Kathua, 38 Samba, 22 Poonch, 21 each Kishtwar and Ramban district and 14 in Reasi district.
In the Union Territory of Ladakh, 14 positive cases were reported today, all in Leh district taking Corona count to 9355 including 210 active and 9019 recoveries. There have been 126 deaths in Ladakh.
Meanwhile, the total fatality count in J&K has reached 1861 including 1174 in the Valley and 686 in the Jammu region.
Srinagar district with 444 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 171, Budgam 107, Kupwara 90, Pulwama 88, Anantnag 83, Bandipora 59, Kulgam 53, Ganderbal 43 and Shopian 37.
In Kashmir valley, 140 people tested positive for coronavirus today.
Those who tested positive include 65 from Srinagar, 09 from Baramulla, 32 Budgam, 9 Kupwara, 18 from Pulwama, 2 Anantnag, 1 Bandipora, 3 Ganderbal and one from Kulgam.
The total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 70,337 including 67,451 recoveries and 1,175 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 3,414 including 1,711 from Kashmir division.
With 409 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 114,353, which is 95.59 percent of the total cases.
