POONCH, Apr 29: A 16 year old boy died after he was drowned in river while bathing in Mandi river in Poonch district today.
Official sources said that two youth identified as Sajad Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed and Mohd Arif (15), son of Abdul Aziz were bathing in river near Dak Bungalow, Mandi when both of them were drifted and drowned.
Locals after watching them drowning rescued both and they were taken to nearby 25 RR army unit where first aid was given to them.
Later, they were shifted to Sub District Hospital, Mandi, where one Sajad Ahmed was declared dead and the condition of another was said to be stable.
Qayoom said that one among them was brought dead and the condition of another is stable. The dead body was handed over to the family after all legal formalities. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
