JAMMU, Dec 1: Police in Jammu’s Greater Kailash area here claimed today they have arrested one person for a vehicle theft in the area. The stolen vehicle, an Alto car, has also been recovered from his possession.
A police spokesperson said that on November 30, 2023, one Nikku Singh of Greater Kailash, Jammu, lodged a written complaint with Police Post Greater Kailash, stating therein the theft of his Alto car parked outside his house.
On receipt of the written complaint, a case FIR number 125/2023 Under Section 379 was registered at the concerned Police Station and investigation started, he said.
During the course of investigation, the police spokesperson said that the investigating team analysed the CCTV footage of the area and generated human intelligence to nab a suspect, Karan Singh alias Karnu of Rajeev Nagar, Narwal, Jammu, for questioning.
“The suspect confessed to his involvement in the crime during sustained questioning,” he said, adding that accordingly he was arrested and the vehicle stolen by him recovered from his possession.
The entire operation was conducted under the supervision of SDPO City South, Sachit Sharma, and guidance of SP City South, Shaheen Wahid, with overall supervision of SSP Jammu, Vinod Kumar.
