JAMMU, May 20: Akhnoor police today arrested a man with illicit liquor.
According to a police spokesman, a police party of police station Akhnoor laid a surprised naka near Kameshwar Temple, Akhnoor and stopped one pedestrian namely Deepak Raj son of Thoru Ram, resident of Bathera (Marh).
He said on search of his belongings, police party recovered 50 pouches of Excise liquor from his possession which he was carrying illegally. “The accused was arrested by police on the spot and the liquor seized”, he said, adding a case FIR No 85/16 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered in this connection and investigation is going on.
