JAMMU, Nov 27: One person was held along with 9 kilograms of poppy straw near out-gate of Bus-Stand here today.
As per police sources, police team from Bus Stand police station intercepted a pedestrian near out-gate at Bus Stand here on suspicions grounds.
During checking, police recovered 9 kilograms of poppy straw and arrested the accused, who has been identified as Mohammad Iqbal, son of Mohammad Shaban, a resident of Dhrabhgama, Pulwama, Kashmir, at present Tekru, Shopian.
A case under FIR number 78/14 under Section 8/15/16 narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Bus-Stand police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Inspector Bhushan Manhas made the arrest under the supervision of SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
