One held with 13.7 kg poppy straw

JAMMU, Mar 23: Gandhi Nagar police today arrested a drug peddler with 13.7 kg poppy straw from Gole Market area.
An agile police team of Police Station Gandhi Nagar constituted under the supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma and led by SHO Police Station Gandhi Nagar Inspector Pankaj Sharma while on naka duty near Gole Market area rounded up one suspect namely Paramjeet Singh alias Shinda son of Shingara Singh of Rattveal Jat Majri (Punjab), who behaved suspiciously on seeing police teams.
“On search of the suspect, 13.7 kg of Poppy straw was recovered from him,” a police spokesman said, adding, a case FIR Number 67/2022 u/s 8/15 NDPS ACT was registered in this connection at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and the accused got arrested.
Further investigation of the case was going on, he further added.
