JAMMU, Feb 20: One person was arrested today with 32 kg poppy straw by Panjtirthi police.
“A police party of police post Panjtirthi led by Incharge police post, SI Vinod Sharma while on naka duty at Panjtirthi Chowk, signalled one vehicle (Tavera) bearing registration number JK18-0370 for checking,” police sources said.
They said that during checking of luggage belonging to one Azad Hussain Sheikh (passenger) son of Mohd Ayub Sheikh of Chogalpura (Kulgam), 32 kg of poppy straw like substance was recovered from his possession.
In this connection, a case FIR No 32/2020 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act was registered at police station Pacca Danga and further investigation taken up.
