JAMMU, Mar 22: A drug peddler was arrested and 5 kilograms of ganja seized from his possession from Bakshi Nagar area here today.
One Teek Ram of Chhattisgarh, at present Rajpura Mangotrian, Jammu, was arrested with the contraband by a team of Police Station Bakshi Nagar during routine checking near Pawan Ice Cream Chowk naka point, a police official said.
He said the accused has been accordingly booked under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act and further investigations set into motion to uncover the larger network involved in the drug smuggling to bring the perpetrators to the book.
