RAMBAN, Apr 19: Police here today foiled a narcotics smuggling bid at a checking point near a community hall and arrested a smuggler with charas like substance.
A team of cops from Police Station Ramban stopped a car Swift Dzire make bearing registration number DL1CN-7822, while it was coming from Kashmir and was moving towards Ramban, for checking.
During checking 695 gram charas like substance was recovered from the car.
The driver of the car was arrested and he disclosed his identity as Mohinder Singh, son of Payar Chand, resident of village Kothri, Tehsil Batote.
In this regard, a case in FIR No. 151/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation started.
The arrest was made by a Police team from Police Station Ramban led by ASI Mohd Yousuf Runyal under the guidance of Inspector Anil Choudhary, SHO Ramban and under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs Ramban, Pardeep Singh Sen and under the overall supervision of SSP Ramban, Mohita Sharma.
