JAMMU, Oct 11: One person was arrested with 82 e-cigarettes here today, officials said.
Acting on information received at Police Station Channi Himmat through reliable sources regarding the sale of e-cigarettes in the area under their jurisdiction, a case FIR number 156/2023 Under Sections 4/7 of the Prohibition of e-cigarettes Act 2019 was registered at the concerned police station and investigation started, they said.
Post registration of FIR, officials said, special teams of Police Station Channi Himmat led by SDPO East, Parupkar Singh, assisted by SHO Channi Himmat, Neeraj Choudhary, rounded up the accused identified as Sarthak Anand of Last Morh, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, who was selling the e-cigarettes at a shop namely, Elite Smokers, in sector 7 of the Channi Himmat locality.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
