JAMMU, Feb 5: Jhajjar Kotli Police today apprehended a drug peddler and recovered 95 kg of Poppy straw from his possession.
“During naka checking at Suketar, a team of Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by concerned SHO Sikander Singh rounded up one suspect namely Pargat Singh son of Ajit Singh, resident of Sadohke (Amritsar, Punjab), when he was on his way from Srinagar towards Jammu in a vehicle bearing registration number PB072-3295,” a police spokesman said.
He said on search, 95 kg of Poppy straw was recovered from the suspect. “In this regard, a case under FIR Number 11/2023 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and the accused got arrested,” the spokesman said, adding further investigation of the case was going on.
The arrest and recovery were made by the police team under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Sultan Mirza and overall supervision of SP Rural Rahul Charak.
