JAMMU, May 17: One person was arrested along with 100 kilograms of banned medicinal herb (nagchatri) from Parade area.
As per police sources, on reliable information, police team from Parade police post intercepted a Hyundai i10 car bearing registration number JK02AN-2188 at Parade Chowk.
During checking, police recovered 100 kilograms of banned medicinal herb (nagchatri) concealed in three bags and arrested the driver of the vehicle, who has been identified as Arvind Kumar, son of Sudesh Kumar, a resident of Purani Mandi.
A case under Section 6/15/16 Forest Act and 379 RPC has been registered at police post Parade and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge police post Parade SI Rahul Mahajan made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City North Perbeet Singh Parihar, SP City North Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
