KISHTWAR, Feb 14: A drug peddler along with 40 grams of charas was nabbed by the police today.
“A joint team of police station Chatroo and police post Mughalmaidan, while on patrolling and routine checking, near Pahalgam Sigdi area, noticed suspected movement of one pedestrian coming from Pahalgam towards Sigdi area,” police sources said.
They said on seeing the police party, the pedestrian tried to flee from the spot but police party swiftly and tactfully overpowered him. “During checking, 40 grams of charas like substance was recovered from the possession of the accused namely Mohd Yousaf son of Asadullah Chopan, resident of Pahalgam Sigdi,” sources added.
They said a case FIR number 16/2022 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at police station Chatroo and further investigation started.
