RAMBAN, Dec 3: Police here today foiled a Narcotics smuggling bid at Khari and arrested one person with charas like substance.
While on a routine patrolling and checking duty, cops from Police Post Khari rounded up one person coming from Mandakass area and moving towards Khari along with a bag which he tried to conceal from the police.
He disclosed his name as Ajaj Ahmed Chopan son of Akbar Ali Chopan resident of Trana, Tehsil Khari and during checking of his bag one polythene bag was found containing 36 gm Charas like substance.
In this regard, a case in FIR No. 266/2022 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation set into motion.
The accused has been arrested by Police party of Police Post Khari led by Incharge of Police Post PSI Sweet Singh under the guidance of Inspector Mohd Afzal Wani, SHO Banihal and supervision of SDPO Banihal, Nisar Ahmed Khoja under the overall supervision of SP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
