JAMMU, Dec 31: One person was held today with heroin by Kanachak police.
According to police sources, the accused was on foot towards Akhnoor via Jammu-Akhnoor Road. On seeing the police party at Simblewala, the accused identified as Mubarak Ahmed Khandey son of Mohd Ramzan Khandey of Gandvi (tehsil D H Pora, Kulgam), tried to flee but the alert police party intercepted the accused on suspicion and recovered 2 gram of chitta (a heroin like substance) on his personal search.
The accused was arrested with recovered chitta and a case FIR number 97/2020 under Sections 8/21/22 of NDPS Acts registered against him in police station Kanachak. Further investigation into the case was initiated.
