UDHAMPUR, Mar 22: In yet another breakthrough in its drive against the trade of illicit liquor, the police seized nearly 7 litres of illicit (Desi) liquor from a person who was coming from Shivgali area towards Gandtop in Bansantgarh area today.
The police patrolling team of Police Station Basantgarh led by its SHO Insp Rajinder Kumar intercepted one suspected person namely- Kewal Kumar, son of Babu Ram, hailing from village Panchound No. 02 for checking.
During checking, 07 litres of illicit liquor was recovered which he had kept in his possession to sell the same to the people of the surrounding area in order to gain illegitimate profit.
The recovered consignment of illicit liquor was seized and accused got arrested. In this regard, a case FIR No. 05/2024 U/S 48(a) Excise Act was registered at Basantgarh Police Station and further investigation launched.
